How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
Finding the right therapist is important. During your first session, consider whether you feel comfortable and understood. It's okay to try a few different therapists to find the best fit for your needs. People prefer different approaches, I am a relaxed therapist who works hard to put you at ease and build rapport, swearing and jokes are ok in my sessions. If you prefer a very formal approach, another therapist may be a better fit. Have a look at my video to get a sense of who I am. Initial consults are free, so you can get sense of how I work before you book a full session.
What should I do if I feel nervous about starting therapy?
Feeling nervous is normal. Remember that therapy is a supportive, non-judgmental space designed to help you. If you have any concerns, feel free to discuss them with me during your first session. You can’t get it “wrong” and you will never be critsed or mocked in a session.
